Ask about the old one before the new one arrives
It is the call we most wish came earlier. A delivery date exists, the old item has to be gone before it, and three days is not much notice for a job that also needs somewhere for it to go.
Check the fire label first
On any upholstered item you are replacing, before you ring anybody. With an intact label most charities will consider it; without one virtually none will, and that single thing decides where the old sofa can go.
It takes ten seconds and it is the most useful thing you can do before a swap-out.
Tell us the deadline, not the preference
A returns window, a hire end date, a venue break-down time, a delivery slot for the new item. On a two-leg job the deadline belongs to somebody else and it decides everything.
If something went wrong
Write and say so plainly. Your booking contract covers claims and the time limits on them, and we would far rather deal with it directly than leave you reading clauses on your own.
